How To Stay Motivated With Weight Loss

When it comes to losing weight and keeping it off, the most important thing isn't diet or exercise. It's motivation. If you can keep motivated, you can meet your goals, become more physically fit, and live a healthier lifestyle.
Unfortunately, most of us have problems staying motivated. Sure, it's easy to decide to diet and exercise and stick to it for a couple of weeks; but eventually, nearly all of us get to a point where we lose our focus and give up.
When this happens we not only gain back whatever weight we may have lost, but we often put on even more pounds than we had before we started. This can be a real blow to our self-esteem and make it even harder for us to try to lose weight in the future.

The good news is that it is possible to find ways to stay motivated and keep focused on your weight loss goals - once you know how. When you achieve this level of focus, you will not only lose weight now; you'll find that it's much easier to keep the weight off in the long term.
They provided us with a bunch of tips that have worked in the real world to help the people they've worked with to stay motivated, and we are happy to pass them on to you.
• Realize that your subconscious is the biggest thing holding you back from staying motivated. On a conscious level, you know you want to lose weight - but your subconscious may not be on board. It is filled with negative thoughts that expect failure. So, you need to change your subconscious expectations for yourself. Most of us have a negative inner dialogue going on, but that dialogue can be changed. When you find yourself thinking negative thoughts, stop them in their tracks and replace them with positive thoughts. Over time, this will become automatic and it will stop your subconscious from sabotaging your weight loss and healthy living efforts. Breaking the subconscious chains that are holding you back from real weight loss is the most important thing you can do.

• Find a diet buddy, and set them up on speed dial on your phone. The two of you can work to support each other. When you feel tempted to break your diet or skip out on the gym, give them a call and let them talk you into doing the right thing. Be there for them in the same situations. Between the two of you, you both have a much better chance of sticking to your weight loss and exercise plans.
• Stop focusing on how hard it is to lose weight. If you are constantly thinking about how much work it is to lose weight and stay healthy, this will fill your brain with negative thoughts. That's not good. Don't let yourself focus on the negative. Instead, keep in mind all of the benefits of losing weight. Make a list if you have to! By focusing on the positive, you'll be much less tempted to go off your weight loss plan.
• Every week, take a picture of yourself in the mirror. Then post this picture someplace where you will see it every day. Keep adding new pictures every week. By actually seeing how much progress you are making, it will be much easier for you to stick to your goals - because you'll be able to visualize the results.

• Start a blog about your weight loss goals. By writing once or twice a week about what you are doing, you'll be able to keep track of your progress and work out your inner demons. You'll also get people to comment on your blog and encourage you to stick to it.
• Reward yourself every so often. Set a simple goal - say, losing five pounds. When you make that goal, go out and buy yourself something really nice. Get your favorite author in hardcover instead of waiting for the paperback to come out. Buy your favorite movie on Blu-Ray. It doesn't matter what it is, as long as it's something you like that you wouldn't normally buy for yourself.
• Don't give up if you have a slip. Look, nobody is perfect. We aren't machines. Sometimes we are going to screw up and have a slice of chocolate cake. It happens. But don't treat it like the end of the world. Many people figure that once they've gone off their diet once, they might as well give up. Don't! Instead, try to figure out why you were tempted and spend a little extra time in the gym that week.

• Try to find ways to make working out fun. Just sitting alone in the gym on a stationary bike is not very inspiring for most people. It's boring and easy to give up. Why not pick up a new sport? You'll end up making new friends and by playing a game, you'll be having fun while burning off calories. And you'll keep doing it because you won't want to let your team down.
• If you have a partner, have lots of sex! Sex not only feels good, but it burns off calories. More importantly, it releases the same endorphins into your body as eating chocolate. And here's something you may not know - when you start to lose weight, your libido will improve and you'll experience much more sexual satisfaction. Women in particular have reported becoming more orgasmic the more weight they lose.
• Keep temptation out of your home. When you are alone watching television is when you are most likely to break down and cheat on your diet. Go through your cupboards and get rid of temptation food. Then go to the grocery story and buy a lot of healthy food. Throw out all your takeout menus. Without temptations surrounding you, you will be much less likely to break your diet. Your moment of temptation will pass and you'll stay motivated and on track.

• Create an upbeat playlist for your iPod. It's been shown that people who listen to fast, upbeat music while they work out have more positive associations with exercise and are less likely to stop doing it.
• Subscribe to blogs of other people who are trying to lose weight and get in shape. Reading about other people's weight loss struggles will help you realize you are not alone. Plus, you may gain some surprising weight loss tips and be able to share your experiences with other people as well.
These tips are not particularly hard to incorporate into your life, and they have worked to help thousands of people stay motivated so that they not only lose weight but also keep it off.
You can start slow and add one tip a week into your life, and over time you'll finally start seeing the body you've always wanted staring back at you in the mirror.

Meditation And Weight Loss For A Healthier New You

Meditation and weight loss for a healthier new you, is not really to hard. Here is some information to help you get started.
Most of us have heard or read that meditation is good for us. Some have even tried meditation once or twice, but not getting the hang of it they have given up. Meditation offers us many benefits, one of which is that it can help us stay true and focused on our weight loss program. The way it does that is that it helps reduce stress, calming our inner selves. A little stress is o.k. But for those of us that are weigh challenged, extra stress can lead to extra eating.

Comfort foods are called comfort foods for a reason. When under uncontrolled stress, it is very easy to turn to your favorite comfort foods to hide the uncontrolled feelings of stress you are having. The problem is, for most of us with a weight problem, those foods tend to be the fattening ones. That ice cream cone or that tripe cheeseburger with fries may take our minds away from the stresses of the moment, but it only lasts for a short time, if at all. Most of the time we are fighting with our mind while we eat the comfort food. We know we will be unhappy later in the day for allowing ourselves to eat all the junk food, but at the moment it seems we have no control over it.
Meditation can help us avoid or control the original stress and this in turn will help us avoid the eating binge. There is a simple breathing meditation that you can do that will help stop your mind from all the noise that is causing you to stress. Most books tell you that you want to think of the breathing as you do it. You think of breathing in, while breathing in and you think of breathing out as you breath out. It is a very simple meditation and it does work. The object is to bet your mind to slow down and think of only one thing, stopping all that clutter that is continually going on in our minds.

Our minds are constantly being bombarded with thoughts and all that noise is stressful. We have upwards of 10,000 thoughts a day. So many that we are numb to them and don't even realize that we are always thinking. You want to reduce those thoughts to only a single thought. Quite the chatter. Once we do this, we should be much better able to handle the stress and the urge to eat without thinking.
Breathing deeply helps us release tensions.
How to meditate to help control your weight program starts with setting aside time to meditate. It need not be long when you are first starting. 5 to 10 minutes, a couple of times a day is OK. After you have been at it for a while, you will want to do a short breathing meditation whenever you feel the urge to eat the wrong foods or to eat at the wrong times.

When you first meditate, elevate your posture to make yourself aware. I like to focus on smells when I do a breathing meditation. Of course it won't work if you are setting right outside of your favorite fast food establishment. So, find a quit spot to meditate. As you breath in focus on the smells, and picture what your breath is telling you about your surroundings. Breathing in gives your mind and body good energy, while breathing out is letting go of bad energy.
You will find other thoughts drift into your mind while doing this. When this happens, gently bring your mind back to your breathing. Once you start feeling the benefits of meditation it will become a lifetime habit. You will find yourself more in control of your eating and stop eating because of stress.

You will find that you no longer care for junk food. You will want to feed you mind and body healthy foods. As this happens, you should start to see the extra pounds disappearing. You will discover a whole new you.
Meditation isn't the only answer to losing weight but it can do a lot to make the journey easier.

Running On Empty? 10 Top Tips To Gain Energy

Do you remember the energy, the drive of your younger days? Fatigue is a common complaint of almost everyone once they arrive at middle age. Rather than adapting to the feeling of being run down and out of gas... do something to gain energy and get yourself going again!
1. Check for a health problem - fatigue is a symptom that appears with many illnesses, things like diabetes, heart disease arthritis, anemia, thyroid disease and even sleep apnea. And don't forget to check the medicine cabinet... often drugs can contribute to those feelings of exhaustion. Suspect drugs for blood pressure, as well as antihistamines, diuretics or narcotic medications. If you're unusually tired after starting a new medication, talk with your doctor.

2. Exercise - even though it might be the last thing you want to do, many studies have shown that being active boosts energy levels. It sure gets your blood pumping, which improves your circulation, making it easier for blood to deliver oxygen and nutrients to the brain and muscles of the body. It's been found that those who are active have a greater sense of self-confidence, but also have stronger, more efficient hearts, lungs and muscles.
If you're struggling to get motivated, use an iPod or MP3 player to create a workout playlist of songs (120 to 140 beats a minute) to help keep you going. The tunes aren't just a distraction form all the sweating and straining, research has found that matching the tempo of your workout to music can increase you capacity for exercise by 15%.

Yoga might be especially effective for giving you more energy. A British study reported improvements in clear thinking, energy and confidence after only six weeks of once a week yoga classes. University of Oregon researchers offered yoga classes to 135 subjects (men and women) who were 65 to 85 years old, and at the end of six months, the subjects reported an improved sense of well-being and a boost in their overall energy levels.
3. Drink lots of water - dehydration takes away your energy and hurts your physical performance. It makes sense that being dehydrated can cause fatigue even when you're just doing things around the house and yard. Dehydration also has been found to decrease alertness and impact concentration. You will know if you're drinking enough water by the color of your urine - pale yellow or straw colored is okay, anything else is a sign you need to be drinking more water. Eating water based fruits and veggies is another great choice, but be sure to include a serving of a potassium rich food as well. Any non-alcoholic drink, water included, over ice is an almost instant pick me up.

4. Eat small meals, more often - some people battling fatigue might benefit from eating smaller meals regularly during the day as this helps to steady blood sugar levels. You will also want to choose whole grains and complex carbs as they take longer to digest and help keep blood sugar levels stable. And remember, more often does NOT mean bigger portions, be sure and keep an eye on the size of the meals. Small means small.
There's also been research that suggests low doses of caffeine during the day work are better than the giant cup to start the day. Researchers found that those who work odd hours got a better boost from caffeine when they drank small amounts, and they did better on cognitive tests.
5. Get enough sleep - sounds obvious, but lack of sleep is one of the main causes of fatigue, so if you're burning the midnight oil understand you can't do this forever. Eventually you'll need to get to bed early enough to catch up on your sleep. When those participating in a 2004 Stanford University study were allowed to sleep as long as they wished, they had more vigor and were less tired. Experts are also finding that good sleep habits may also have critical health benefits.

If you're up late on a regular basis, consider an afternoon nap. Hardly an indulgence, napping restores wakefulness and helps in performance and learning. A ten minute nap is usually enough to get you going again, but don't nap longer than 30 minutes or you're likely to impact your nighttime sleep.
6. Get some omega-3 fish oils - according to a 2009 Italian study, subjects who took a fish oil capsule for 21 days demonstrated faster mental reaction times than those who didn't take the capsule. The capsule-takers also said they felt more vigorous. Another fatigue busting food is dark chocolate (with at least 60% cocoa) as it contains a stimulant that boosts energy without giving you the jitters that come with other sweets, so you feel energetic for longer.

7. Be aware of your own body clock - some of us have all kinds of energy in the morning, others don't warm up until later on... at their best by the end of the day. You need to be aware of your own daily energy patterns and schedule demanding things when your energy level is up.
8. Lose extra weight - dropping a bit of weight can give you a major energy boost. Even small reductions help with mood, feelings of vigor and the overall quality of your life. The most pain-free weight loss comes from cutting back on your portion sizes, eating a balanced (lots of fruits and veggies) diet and being more active overall.

9. Get rid of clutter - all that mess lying around is a drain on your energy, reminding your silently of things you've yet to do. Working in small increments to clean up - say a half hour a day, or a bookshelf each afternoon - is the way to go, you'll see the progress but won't be overwhelmed by the task.
10. Change up your daily routine - doing the same things day after day drain your energy, instead switch things up and the reward chemical of the brain, dopamine, is released. This gets the body ready for action. Even just taking a new way to work, shifting up your workout routine, or eating outside instead of the kitchen table can be enough.

If all else fails experts suggest you fake it - slap on a smile, put on a brightly colored shirt or try a new perfume - by faking having energy, your body soon catches on and you actually gain energy. Research has shown that a simple smile releases endorphins and ups serotonin levels, and all this helps you come to feel the energy and vigor you're faking.

11 Tips To Enjoy Summer Life And Still Keep Your Shape

Summer is about to be in full swing, and it's that time when everyone wants to look impressive in their "lack" of clothing.  While I can't promise you that you'll achieve a fitness model body, I can at least give you some simple but important tips in  achieving a leaner physique. Listen up! Behavioral changes guarantee your success - not just knowledge alone.

You may already have drawn out your road map with your nutritional plan and your workouts, so take that strategy and ACT on it. Stay motivated and consistently remind yourself of your fitness goal. Here are 11 basic tips to get you jumpstarted!
1. CUT THE SIMPLE CARBS.
It's unfortunate that the majority of society is a "carb junkie." This especially applies to overweight individuals mainly because their bodies struggle with insulin sensitivity. Our body absolutely needs carbohydrates, but one has to learn to appropriately reverse the ratio of simple carbs (high glycemic) to complex carbs (low glycemic). Most importantly reducing total sugar intake. Having a positive ratio of complex to simple carbs will allow the body to regulate blood sugar levels, burn more fat as fuel, and ultimately lose more weight.
2. EAT SMALLER, MORE FREQUENT MEALS.
Smaller, frequent feedings about every 3-4 hours prevents your blood sugar levels from spiking dramatically throughout the day. This helps your hormones stay in check, while regulating hunger as well. Ultimately, it helps elevate metabolism, it's easier on your digestive system, and it can eventually provide you with more energy throughout the day.

3. CONSUME MORE FUNCTIONAL FATS.
Essential fatty acids, such as omega-6 and omega-3 consumed in appropriate ratios of 2:1 or better yet at 1:1 will allow the body to regulate your hormones, calm down inflammation, and stabilize blood sugar levels. This eventually leads to greater fat loss. So suck it up, and buy your fish and flax oils at your local health food store.
4. DOWN THAT WATER.
Water is often overlooked, but it's the number one nutrient for our body to survive. Staying hydrated aids with digestion, curbs your appetite, and flushes our metabolic waste. Make sure to get in at least 64 oz per day.

5. INCREASE FIBER INTAKE.
This nutrient keeps food moving along your gastrointestinal tract, and like water, it aids in flushing metabolic waste. It also helps maintain consistent energy levels, slows the rate of carbohydrate digestion, which stabilizes blood sugar levels.
6. ABSTAIN FROM ALCOHOL.
Not only is alcohol estrogenic (negatively affects testosterone for men), can lead to fat gain, and has a whopping nutrition-empty 7 calories per gram, but it takes precedence over fat metabolism when introduced into the body. Alcohol actually shuts down the fat burning mechanism for up to 48 hours, so avoid it as much as possible.
7. SPICY METABOLISM.
Incorporating a variety of spices in your foods such as curry, cayenne pepper, cinnamon and certain herbs may help boost your metabolism. Spices also help with stabilizing blood sugar levels.

8. COMBINE WEIGHT TRAINING WITH YOUR CARDIO.
While aerobic activity may burn a great deal of calories, especially when maintained at a high intensity, you'll achieve greater success by combining it with resistance training. This is because proper resistance training stresses all of your muscles fiber types (Type 1 and Type 2). When you stress your muscles effectively, you either maintain and strengthen your current muscle mass or you even gain some. For every pound of muscle you gain it equates to 50 extra calories you can burn per day. So remember to hit the weights at least three times per week along with your cardio.
9. SLOW DOWN YOUR EATING.
No one truly gets to sit down and have a nice relaxing meal nowadays, especially with our busy schedules. Learning and realizing to slow down the pace at which we eat prevents compulsive overeating and assists our digestion. It takes at least 20 minutes between the time you're full and when your brain actually realizes it. Slowing your eating will also allow you to enjoy your meal.

10. WATCH FOR FOOD ALLERGIES.
Many people are allergic to dairy and wheat products. Being sensitive to these two food categories have been shown to cause weight gain. If you're consuming a diet high in refined foods, these sensitivities become more evident. This causes digestive problems such as bloating, stomach pain, and water retention. If you're not sure you may want to consider an allergy test.
11. GET YOUR ANTIOXIDANTS.
Getting your daily dose of antioxidants from either a good multi-vitamin, a specific antioxidant supplement combination, or even a healthy combination of fruits and vegetables is important for combating toxins held in fat cells. Antioxidants such as vitamins A, C, E, polyphenols in green tea, etc. help your body reduce the time that toxins stay in your system.

So there it is - 11 basic tips to help you achieve a healthier and leaner physique. It's never to late to take action. Have
fun and enjoy the summer!

5 tips to lose weight the smart way

Losing weight and getting in better shape often is the top three goals that people mention when asked about their health and body. I don't really like to use the word 'diet' when talking about weight loss because when you knock off the 't', what does the word become? You should never associate making changes in your lifestyle to 'die[t]' and instead concentrate on the work towards healthier and happier self. Here are my top 5 tips on how to lose weight smart way while improving also your overall health and wellness.

1. Hydrate your body
Water is one of the most important elements in the human body. Every single cell in your body needs water to function properly and it has been suggested that drinking enough water may be one of the key elements also to maintaining a healthy weight. Remember to drink enough water throughout the day to meet your body’s needs. I would recommend to drink 1.5 - 2 liters of water every day. Studies have shown that drinking water raises your metabolism, and improves your fat burning rate, reduces bloating and cleanses your body from harmful toxins.

2. Adjust your eating habits
Balanced meals are essential when you want to lose weight. Limiting sugary, fatty and processed foods, and eventually cutting them out completely, is necessary. It’s called “junk food” for a reason as they spike blood sugar and slow your metabolism.

There are so many healthy alternatives that you can have, even if you have a sweet tooth. Make it a point to eat healthy at every meal, and every day of the week. Small high-protein and high-fiber meals throughout the day is the best option. Make sure your body gets enough Chromium which is great help to stop sugar cravings. You can also include natural and safe weight management solutions, like Slenderiiz drops in your daily meals to help your body get the best support while you are getting rid of unwanted body weight. They are also a great aid to sleep and to de-stress your body.

3. Get enough sleep
As I already mentioned before, if you're trying to lose weight, the amount of sleep you get may be just as important as the food you consume and exercise. Poor sleep has repeatedly been linked to a higher body mass index (BMI) and weight gain because sleep deprivation also increases your appetite and intake of foods high in calories, fats and carbs. I recommend adding bergamot to your water before the sleep as it calms the body, helps to de-stress and have a better sleep.

4. Reduce stress level
Stress is inevitable in our lives, and unfortunately, it is also linked with weight gain. Stress may increase levels of stress hormones such as cortisol in your body. This can cause increased hunger and result in weight gain. If you’re looking to lose weight, you should also review possible ways how to decrease or better handle excessive stress in your life. You can use some of my stress buster techniques if you want to learn how to relax and feel in control again.

5. Exercise
Exercise is important for everyone, especially if you are trying to lose weight. Start with just a few minutes of exercise at a time. Any exercise is better than none, and that helps your body slowly get used to being active. In addition to weight loss, exercise can help lower blood pressure and blood sugar, which can reduce risk of heart disease and diabetes, as well as cancer. The best exercise to do is one that you enjoy so find something that you really like and it will not feel like a chore anymore.

Detoxification is a great way to get you body cleaned from harmful unnecessary things that are stored in your body and give it a fresh start in order to feel better and boost your overall well-being. A lot of people are very critical whenever the word ‘detox’ is used but if it is done correctly, it can only be beneficial to your body because taking care of your internal body is just as important as taking care of your outside appearance.

We live in a world that too often feels out of balance. Add constant stress from busy schedules with too much fast food, throw in environmental pollutants, mercury from dental fillings, preservatives in foods, toxins from plastics, cleaning agents, and poor air quality, and it’s easy to see why our bodies may be suffering unhealthy consequences.

All this toxicity may be causing your body’s natural systems to function at less-than-optimal levels, and when your systems are under stress and out of balance, they can’t work as efficiently. Consequently, you may suffer from low energy, weight gain or loss, and weakened immunity. So what can you do to combat these negative effects?

6 good reasons why you should detox your body

1. Remove toxins from your body
Toxins are harmful substances and can be the reason why your skin does not look well, why your internal organs don’t work as they should and why your hormone balance is not as it should be. Toxins destroy your immune system storing themselves in cells throughout your body and block they way for everything good that should reach the vital parts for your body to function at its best.

2. Improve your immune system
Immune system is weakened and becomes vulnerable to illnesses when it is overloaded with toxins. This can seriously affect your quality of life and your daily activities. Right detox programme can help to strengthen your immune system.

3. Prevent chronic diseases
Our bodies are incredibly smart and have their own detox functions but now and then event the smartest systems need a bit of help and care. This is where detox can be very helpful in assisting and improving your body’s natural way of getting rid of toxins and other bad substances.

4. Improve mental and emotional state
Detox has a positive impact on our mental and emotional state. During detox, as we cleanse our bodies, also our mental state becomes clearer.

5. Increase energy and feel better
After detox you will feel much better mentally, physically, and emotionally. After detox course you will notice that you sleep better, have more energy during daytime, have much better mood, feel more energetic and happy.

6. Improve the quality of your skin
A lot of things that we use daily - personal care products, house cleaning items, free radicals and even certain foods can cause our skin to look dull, unhealthy and also age quicker. Detox will help your body to cleanse it inside which in turn will have a positive impact on your appearance and skin restoring its glow and healthiness.

For years, working in beauty sector, I have explored and studied different skincare products that I am happy to use myself and recommend to my clients. Knowing that detox is a vital part of achieving the best results also in skincare, I have explored different detox programmes and products in order to find the best available solutions that would guarantee the best results inside and out. Since I strongly believe that nature always have the best ingredients for everything that we need, I have sourced amazing natural products that I have tested myself and have been absolutely impressed with the results.

I always recommend that you carefully read the label of the products that you are going to use or ask advice to a trusted specialist who can make assessments and recommend the best that your body would need.
