Healthy Eating - Snacks For The Whole Family

Anytime you change the way you eat it will take some encouragement and some preparation but you will find success by having a partner to got through the process with you. When you involve your entire household in the new healthy eating plan you are twice as likely to stick with it and have great progress. For healthy eating snacks for the whole family you can all enjoy the new diet and be getting healthier by the day together.

Snacks that the whole family will enjoy could be in many variations. You must think creatively and plan to prepare snacks for the entire day and not just limit them to one portion of the day or for one special event.
Create fun snacks that are easy for little ones to eat such as finger snacks like vegetables cut up like celery or carrots with a fun dipping sauce for the kids to enjoy. The whole family will enjoy apples cut up with all natural, organic peanut butter to dip the slices into.

Baked potatoes are also good snacks that you can slice up and place cheese on top of that is low fat or non fat cheese and even vegetables on top as well.
Organic yogurts are always nutritious and kids and adults alike enjoy eating them when they are combined with chopped up fruits inside. This creates a healthy snack that is tasty and it fills you up for quite some time.

Soups that are made fresh at home are also enjoyed throughout the winter or just on a rainy day when the kids may really be seeking an activity to engage in such as helping create the soups.
Just about every child enjoys Popsicles, and they should not be left out of the healthy snack plan for the entire family. You can create your own fruit pops in the freezer with a few Popsicle sticks and blending up your family's favorite fruits. You simply pour the mixture into the freezing trays and allow them to mold and in a few hours you have created an all natural healthy snack for everyone to enjoy on a hot summer day.

Get your family involved in deciding which snacks they may be willing to try and with all of the input you can receive from everyone you can create a fun family menu for the entire week together! Allow the kids to help with creating all the snacks they would like to take with them for school lunches and for any sporting events and practices as well.

Vegetable Green Smoothie Recipe

Vegetable Smoothie Recipes are Healthful and Tasty!
Are you thinking about introducing additional veggies to your daily diet? Maybe you have actually taken into consideration testing vegetable green smoothie recipes yet weren't certain if you want them.
I have been whipping up healthful vegetable green smoothie recipes each day for more than six-and-a-half years in my blender and I haven't stopped enjoying them yet!

When you settle into a consistent routine with creating your veggie smoothies, I believe you will find it very simple to mix a pitcher of smoothies for the job or your home. I am impressed with just how terrific green veggies taste as a smoothie.
If you want to drop a few pounds and inches and include additional veggies in your daily diet, keep reading to get a tasty recipe to start your day.
Can you have too many veggies? That is not very likely. It is difficult to picture somebody (such as your physician) suggesting that 'You are consuming JUST TOO MANY veggies. Cut that out!'
The food pyramid recommends getting a minimum of three to five portions of veggies each day. A good example of that would be one cup of leafy raw vegetables, 1/2 cup of prepared veggies, and 3/4 cup of vegetable juices. If you add in a number of veggies to a tasty smoothie or two, you will likely obtain your vegetable needs every day with no trouble!

I believe that uncooked veggies tend to be more nutritionally healthy than prepared veggies. Not everybody might accept my conclusions. That is certainly okay. I do encourage anyone to at least add more uncooked veggies to your daily intake and observe just how much healthier you feel over all.
To be able to respect my digestive problems, I tried my blender to split up the thick dietary fiber of the veggies. It really is much simpler for my system to digest and break down the remnants.
Frequently, I listen to people use the words 'Smoothie' and 'Juicing' interchangeably. The main difference is if you take your veggies in a smoothie as compared to juicing, you will be retaining the vital dietary fiber that we need to keep our colons healthy.
I've juiced veggies and will possibly do this again every once in a while. Juicing can be extremely advantageous while doing a veggie juice fast for instance. Smoothies nevertheless, appear to be exactly what my system likes the most!

Whole Foods – Whole Nutrition

Most people have heard of the term whole foods.  One definition of whole foods is food that was either minimally processed or unprocessed, so that none of the nutritional characteristics have been changed.  In other words, whole foods are unaltered and as close to original as possible.  These whole foods have many nutritional benefits.

We are only just beginning to understand the complex makeup of the foods we eat.  Many of the micronutrients found in whole food may actually be found to work in conjunction with each other.  A food that is in its unaltered form may have just the right balance of nutrition for your body.  This is one of the reasons processed foods are often devoid of any real nutritional value.  Processing foods with heat, chemicals, or acids causes the vital nutrients to become denatured.  Denaturing means to permanently alter a property and make it almost useless in terms of nutrition.

In many modern industrialized countries, we are very well fed.  By this I mean, we have plenty to eat.  You might be surprised to learn that many of these well fed people are actually undernourished.  The nourishment that should be coming from our food just isn’t.  The food most of us eat has lost almost all of its original nutritional properties.  Many times manufacturers add vitamins and minerals, and put “fortified” on the label.  This is to recreate the nutrition in the foods after they remove or ruin all of it through processing.  Fortification is absolutely not comparable to the real nutrition the food originally had.

One way to get healthy whole foods into your body is by creating smoothies in your blender.  A powerful, heavy duty blender, like the Vitamix, can create a delicious smoothie out of whole foods in no time.  This smoothie can be made to have all the nutrition you should be getting in your diet.  Drinking your nutrition like this is easier on the digestive system, since it requires very little digesting.  It is also faster and easier to drink a smoothie than to actually eat all those vegetables and fruits.

Juicing vegetables and fruits is another great way to get the nutritional boost your body needs.  Some would argue, however, that because the juice is separated from the pulp that it isn’t truly a whole food anymore.  This may be true, but the juice is still full of great nutrition even without the fibrous pulp.  Juice can be another easy and fast way to drink your nutrition.

Overall, consuming whole foods will give you the best nutrition.  Remember that any process from the time the food was grown, to when you consume it, may cause it to no longer be considered whole.  Even products that say “whole grains” are also full of many other properties that are not whole.  When you see whole grains on the label, realize that this may be a marketing ploy to get you to think it is healthy.  The food may contain whole grains, but in what amount?  Think about this processing the next time you choose your foods.  True whole foods won’t come in a package, except for the one Mother Nature gave it.

Vegan Pancakes And Berry Smoothie | VIDEO

If you are looking for a light, tasty, summery meal that is easy to prepare and make, check out my summer Vegan Pancakes & Berry Smoothie recipe. It takes literally few minutes to prepare and you can have it at home or bring it with you as a delicious lunch to work or pack as a picnic on a day out.

Vegan Pancakes

To make 2-3 large pancakes you will need the following ingredients:

1 ripe banana
70 g organic porridge oats
2-3 tbsp mixed flaxseeds
Almond milk

Add all ingredients into a mixer and blitz into a smooth creamy mixture and make sure it is not too runny or the pancakes won't set and you will end up throwing the mixture out. less milk works the best and then add it slightly if the mixture is too thick.

Pour the mixture on the preheated frying pan which has been greased with coconut butter, coconut oil or nut oils if you are not allergic to them. Cook from both sides until golden brown.

Serve with a dollop of organic almond butter. You can add fresh berries or other fresh fruit, yogurt, honey or tahini (a lighter spread if you find almond butter is too rich for your taste) before serving.

Berry Smoothie

Smoothies are a really great and delicious way how to hydrate your body during summer. As some people find it difficult to drink water, smoothies can be a perfect alternative. I would always recommend coconut water as it is so much better and will give your body more hydration which is so vital to the health. I always get my coconut water in Aldi supermarkets as they offer the best price.

To make a large glass of berry smoothie for 1 person you will need the following ingredients:

1/2 ripe banana
Handful of fresh or frozen mixed berries
Coconut water

Put all the ingredients into a mixer or Nutri Magic Bullet and blend into a smooth liquid mixture, this is brilliant way how to blend solids, fruits, nuts and seeds. Add more coconut water if it is too thick. Serve chilled.

Summer is the perfect time to try lots of great, delicious and easy foods that are made from organic fruits and berries that you can find in your local farmer's markets, health stores or supermarkets. Be creative, try mixing together different ingredients and enjoy healthy fresh meals!
